Dental Implants

Replacing teeth with dental implants can be the healthiest option

People damage or lose teeth every day from injury, disease, or decay. A damaged tooth can destroy oral function and cause pain, and a missing tooth will leave a gap in your smile.

For many years, the only treatment options available for people with missing teeth were bridges or removable dentures, but dental implants have revolutionised the way we can treat tooth loss.

Why replace missing teeth?

Tooth loss can have a dramatic impact on your oral and overall health, and can lead to a range of serious complications including:

  • Your existing teeth can migrate from position to fill the void left by tooth loss
  • Your gum tissue and jaw bone can begin to deteriorate
  • Your facial appearance can change in response to this jaw bone deterioration
  • Your bite can become misaligned

If you’re missing one or more teeth, it’s important to replace them as soon as possible and we offer dental implant restoration to revitalise your oral health and complete your smile.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants closely mimic nature in that they start with a firm foundation – a titanium post inserted into the missing tooth’s socket. This post creates a prosthetic tooth root which bonds with natural bone tissue. On the top of the implant, we can place a beautiful prosthetic tooth that will look, feel, and function just like your natural teeth.

The dental implant procedure

The placement of dental implants requires skill and experience. During the procedure, a metal post is implanted into the jaw. Nature then takes over and your bone beings to fuse with the post, creating a new “root”. Using dental implants, we work in conjunction with experienced local oral surgeons and periodontist to provide everything from replacement of a single tooth to a full-mouth rehabilitation. After treatment is completed, patients can resume their normal activities.
